The muurikka firing pan for the big boys and girls at the open fire is made of steel, with approx. 430gr. Nevertheless very light, as thin-walled and of reliable Finnish quality. The bent edge with 3 cm height as well as the diameter of 23cm creates a sufficiently large cooking surface to prepare a meal at the camp fire.
Since the steel of this Finnish campfire frying pan is thin, the cooking surface heats up quickly but also cools quickly. Before using for the first time, grind the pan with a cloth or kitchen roll soaked in cooking oil. Keep the pan over a strong, open fire. When the skillet is hot and the oil burns vigorously (burns away), the surface of the pan is again boiled with plenty of cooking oil. Done! After a meal clean the pan with a wooden spatula or a pot sponge. Important: The pan must then be re-protected with cooking oil each time after use.
