Knister bike transport bracket for easy carrying of the Knister grills
Is the mount permanently attached to the handlebars?
No, the Knister bracket is not permanently attached to the handlebars. It is simply "turned around" the handlebars and stabilizes itself by the weight of the grill. Neither the grill nor the bracket is screwed to the handlebars. So if you are afraid of thieves, it is better to take the Knister Grill and the holder with you.
How do I adjust the bracket?
The adjustment of the Knister bike mount is done once and without tools. Put the spacer (stainless steel pin) into one of the four holes of the bike mount. This will ensure that the grill does not hang crooked and that it fits the angle of inclination. On 90% of the handlebars one of the middle holes works well. If you have vertical handlebars (e.g. Dutch bicycles) it is best to use one of the upper holes. If you have a horizontal handlebar (e.g. racing bike), it is better to use the lowest hole.
What is the riding feeling during the ride?
The riding feeling is similar to when you ride with a front bike basket (e.g. on a ladies bike). You get used to the weight quickly and are not restricted when riding.
The grill made of metal resembles a resonating body. So if you put only loose cutlery into the body, it will naturally rattle. We therefore recommend to transport charcoal or sausage packs in the grill - they are super silencers and the space in the grill is optimally used. To additionally secure the grill grid, you can use the small wing screw and thus protect the grid from "jumping out".
Does the bike mount fit my handlebars?
Our patented bike mount fits all bicycle handlebars in 99% of the cases. Depending on the type of handlebars, you can adjust the angle with the adjustable spacer so that the grill can be hung up optimally and does not wobble.
- Tube thicknesses up to 45 mm are possible.
- Handlebars with common e-bike displays are possible.
- Handlebars with already mounted brackets (e.g. klickfix®) can be used simultaneously.
On which handlebars does it not fit?
Even though the bike mount fits most handlebar types, there are a few exceptions: with extremely narrow racing bike or bullhorn handlebars, the grill may not fit in between (the grill is approx. 30cm wide without wooden handles, approx. 42cm with wooden handles). In this case it can happen that the wooden grips rest on the top of the handlebars. If you have a very large, horizontally installed display at the front of the handlebars, it also becomes problematic. Bikes where it becomes equally critical are BMX bikes or bikes with extremely wide carbon triathlon handlebars. In these cases, we generally advise against mounting the grill.
The philosophy behind the Knister products and why eisenbams sells these products
Conscious consumption
One component of sustainability is longevity. Contrary to the fast-moving trend in the consumer goods industry, the primary goal is to design and bring to market products that last longer than just one barbecue season. Due to the excellent German engineering and the puristic Danish design, Knister guarantees the highest quality and design standards.
Responsibility
Social responsibility in manufacturing and the supply chain is a premise determined by Knister. For example, the grill handles are manufactured in a workshop for people with disabilities. It is our passion to educate users about a responsible approach to nature. Knister is committed to motivating barbecue enthusiasts and outdoor enthusiasts to practice sustainable barbecue methods and techniques.
Freedom
For Knister, the freedom of an individual in all matters is central. However, the spatial freedom component is often limited for many people living in an urban environment. The luxury of their own garden or balcony is denied to many. Our credo "Out of the city - into nature" is intended to encourage city dwellers to spend time outside their four walls.
