With this roasting pan you can finally prepare your own roast chestnuts around a campfire. This is easy and fun:

  1. Scrath the skin of the chestnuts before roasting in a pan with a sharp knife. Thus, water and fat of chestnut could escape and chestnuts do not burst uncontrollably.
  2. Once you have a nice bed of embers in the brazier, campfire or grill, you can get started.
  3. Fill the roasting pan from Esschert only with one layer of chestnuts. Oil and grease have the chestnuts enough and enter this into the pan once they start to cook outside.
  4. Swing the chestnuts in the roasting pan every few minutes for even better toasting.
  5. The cooking time of chestnuts is etwa'15 to 25 minutes. When the shells open, chestnuts are cooked.
  6. Enter chestnuts from the roasting pan into a bowl and let them cool down 10 minutes and peel them then.
  7. Salted and enjoyed with a bit of butter, this fruit is very delicious.
